Vanessa’s yoga journey began as a way to chill out after a workout at her local YMCA. It wasn’t until she was introduced to hot yoga in 2010 that she understood the true benefits and importance of breath and listening to her body. Her asana practice proved to sprout the seed of overall mind body wellness that has led her to pursue a degree in health psychology and nutrition at Bastyr University, where she is currently studying. She believes that a healthy body cannot exist without a healthy mind, and a healthy mind needs exercise and relaxation, too! Vanessa balances her time off the mat with competitive tennis, running, studying, cooking and enjoying the beautiful PNW. Vanessa completed her 200 hour RYT with Pam Granston through Niyama yoga at GZHY in October 2014 and looks forward to growing and learning her yoga practice every day. She hopes that any and all yogis will find space to love and accept themselves on and off the mat!
